Hawaii : Administration

Hawaii is the newest state among the 50 states of United States. Hawaii is ranked 40th and is located southwest continents of United States. Hawaii was admitted to the U.S. union in 1959 as the 50th state. As per Hawaii’s constitution there exist three branches of government- executive, judicial and legislative. The executive branch is headed by the Governor of Hawaii assisted by the lieutenant governor of Hawaii, both elected on the same ticket. The governor is the only state public official elected statewide; while all other officers are elected by the governor itself. The lieutenant governor acts as the Secretary of State. The unified judicial branch of Hawaii is the Hawaii state judiciary. The state’s highest court is the Supreme Court of Hawaii. The legislative branch consists of bicameral Hawaii state legislature which is comprised of 51members in House of Representatives led by the Speaker of the House and the Senate consists of 25-members headed by the President of Senate.

Department of Health: The Department provides clinical and medical support to improve overall health standards of the people of the state. The Department also maintains records for birth and marriage and is responsible for issuing clinical licenses.

Department of Land and Natural Resources: The Department of Land and Natural Resources looks after protection and preservation of natural resources of the state including freshwater and saline water fishes, beaches and coasts, entire flora and fauna of the area and other resources that include trees and forests with wildlife and animals.

Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: The Department holds the responsibility for business filings, registration and commercial opportunity, certificates and licensing. The Department aims at developing and maintaining the commerce of the state.
